Commissioning of air conditioner

Following the F-Gas Regulation (EU) 517/2014, which came into effect on January 1, 2015, it is necessary that every air conditioning system purchased is made operational by an installer with an F-Gas certification. This is in line with the requirements set out in Article 10 of the aforementioned regulation.

Certification Requirements for Installers

It is a requirement that the installation of an air conditioning system, consisting of an indoor and outdoor unit (also known as split-unit air conditioning), is only carried out by installers who have received the correct certification.

The cooling function of an air conditioner comes from refrigerants, which are known for their high concentration of greenhouse gases, which can have a significant impact on global warming. This is why it is important that these gases do not enter the atmosphere.

Self-installation: Preparatory Work

However, you can save costs by doing the preparatory work yourself, such as mounting the indoor and outdoor units and preparing the passage to the outside. The final installation, including connecting the pipes, requires the expertise of a certified installer.
